One regret I have is not learning how to sew from my mom. Being so far away makes it less ideal for this learning, and when I found this online course I jumped at it (thankfully my mom gifted me her old sewing machine in 2008). The blog, instructions, details, and help will be available for an entire year which allows you to go at your own pace. Thank goodness because I’m already behind completely! It started on the day I flew back to Oklahoma. It’s been hectic with the travels and getting back into the swing of things at work, photography business stuff, laundry, cleaning, etc. I guess I could always find something else to do. I finally had a chance this weekend it sit down, organize and wash my fabric, figure out what else I may need, and print off all the instructions. I will try to blog about my experiences in this other adventure of mine. You will see curtains, a duvet covering, and lots more!!
Here is my small fabric stash for the time being (and note that about half the fabric is from my mom – she makes baby blankets/quilts and had lots of scraps!). Baby steps!!
Shannon - I almost signed up for that as well! Did you know Rachel, one of the teachers, lives in Springfield, MO (where we used to live!). And she’s from Oklahoma originally. We have several mutual friends but I don’t actually her myself. Small world… I hope you enjoy the class and can’t wait to see all you create!
kelly g - Wow! I am impressed! I don’t sew and think it’s awesome that you are learning. I can’t wait to see what you do!!!
