Life in Boxes – Our Journey to Princeton, NJ

This is such a small portion of our crazy life right now. Everything we own (basically) is in boxes right now.  Tomorrow morning the moving truck will be here to load it all up.  I have this terrible fear that somethings going to break, they’ll put my precious lamp shades under heavy boxes, it won’t arrive in Princeton on Saturday.  Not that I’m being negative or anything, just concerns.  I’ve tried very hard to keep everything organized (kitchen stuff together, living room, etc.)  So hopefully when they unload it, it will be easy to place where it needs to be.

I really am excited about moving to Princeton, NJ.  Just not looking forward to the 13 hour drive ahead of us on Thursday.  Thankfully my mom and Anthony’s buddy are flying out here tomorrow to drive with us and give us support.  I will be documenting our journey, so check back to see where we stop, our new place, and more.

Carrie’s Shower

I went to a good friend’s baby shower this weekend.  Carrie is a very expressive individual and I’m so glad I caught some of it with my camera.  I’m gonna miss her but I’ll be back at the end of September and I’m photographing Ms. ACR then.  She’ll be around 2 weeks and I just can’t wait! I have a picture of the group of us who were there, but its on my P&S which I mentioned in my other post that I packed away that card reader.  So I’ll come back and post the picture of us all.

Katie - These are beautiful!! What great photos for Carrie to have as memories of her shower. She’s the cutest pregnant lady!

Carrie - Kim — Thanks so much for taking and sharing these photos. I hope you don’t mind, but I plugged you on my webpage!! Please send me the group photo from your P&S so I can also post that on my webpage.

Things I’m Going to Miss About Nashville

Publix Grocery Store: This is my store! I love all the specials they run (Buy 1 Get One Free) and it has everything I need. I really am going to miss you Publix!

Nashville Public Library: They have the best interlibrary system I’ve ever seen. I log into my account, find a book, request it and wait for it to come to my branch. This is revolutionary (I feel anyways). They have a huge DVD collection as well – you may be on the waitlist for half the year, but I don’t have to pay for them. I sure hope the NJ library system can compete.

St. Henry Catholic Church: This is what has made Nashville home to us. It provided Anthony with a job this past year, and we made so many friends through the Young Adult group I started. We knew practically everyone there and know we are going to start afresh.

Nashville Tri Delta Alumnae Group: These ladies also helped make Nashville home. They took me in and allowed me to flourish in this great big little city. I made more friends than I ever imagined – I will miss you Lauren, Tracy, Liz, Emily, Emily and all the rest of the young alums.

All the friends I’ve made: Katie, Megan, Kelly, Carrie, Mandy and more. I’ve enjoyed the friendships we’ve made and will miss you all. I have a picture of us from Carrie’s baby shower, but we took it with the P&S and I already packed away the cords and what not to load it onto my computer.  I’m going to miss the people here too. They are mostly friendly and willing to help you out. They are very similar to what we know since we’re from Oklahoma.

Mayfield Ice Cream Sandwiches: These have become my weakness here. They make mini bars and they are just perfect right after dinner.
Thank you Nashville for the great 3 years!

Katie - Oh, Kim, what a sweet message!! I am so touched. Nashville will not be the same place without you – we will all miss you terribly. Best wishes and can’t wait to see you in the fall when you come back.

National Shrine of the Infant Jesus – Prague, Oklahoma

Anthony & I ventured to Prague, Oklahoma yesterday afternoon. There are signs on the I-40 about the National Shrine of the Infant Jesus in Prague. Anthony has always been curious and since we’ve been exploring more about the state we both grew up in, it was perfect for us to go visit. The first picture is of the Infant Jesus with Mary and Joseph. The second picture was off to the side of the altar, and its only a few of the outfits the church puts on Jesus during different liturgical seasons. It was very impressive.

Anthony loves the Infant Jesus.

This may be sacrilegious.

Route 66 – Oklahoma

We made the trek down Route 66 to Pops for dinner this evening. I am glad my aunt recommended it as it was a great place for food and opportunities for pictures! This is a year old restaurant near Edmond, OK on Route 66. Its very futuristic and they carry over 500 different sodas.

We also stopped at the Round Barn for a few more pictures (its about half a mile from Pops). This is my favorite of Anthony.

My mom took this picture of us. It was the only one that turned out of many many tries. Its hard to hand over my Canon 5D and have someone take a nice, in focus picture. Thankfully she was able to get one.

Tracy - Wow!! You didn’t tell me about this part of your trip! The giant soda bottle is quite impressive.
